CSFG The Black Crow

This build thread will be updated as I receive the parts I have ordered below. All parts shown below have been ordered and I am currently waiting to receive these.

Step 1:
CSFG The Crow case in black has been received and been built up. Case has now been mounted on the wall until further parts for the build arrive. I also have the 2 CSFG pump tops which I have not yet installed. Upon installation of the brackets etc on the case I can honestly say I am blown away by the build quality of this case

Step 2:
All parts now received. Only parts left to order are riser cable, custom cables, and fittings

Step 3:
Spent the day fitting the hardware to the case. Pulled apart a brand new 3090 FTW3 and fitted the heatkiller gpu block and active backplate.
Firstly I fitted the cpu to the motherboard, applied thermal grizzly and fitted the heatkiller cpu block along with LGA 1700 bracket.
Next I installed the 2 nvme drives to the motherboard then fitted the motherboard to the case.
PSU was fitted next which was a really tight fit but I think I still have just enough room to complete the cable runs
Fitted the GPU to the mounting bracket on the case
Installed the noctua fans to the ek rads, along with the phanteks halos and then installed them to the case.
Lastly I fitted the 2 x ek D5 pumps to the pump tops.

Next step will be to try and work out tubing runs which is easier said than done. Also need to now get the fittings on order to give me something to work with. 👍

Update: Diagram of the proposed loop has been drawn. All fittings have now been ordered from watercooling UK as of 10/4/22. I have decided to go with black barrow fittings for this build as I think they will suit the aesthetics of the build nicely. I have also ordered 2 EK torque drain valves, 2 barrow temp sensors and all tools required to bend the acrylic tubing and finish the loop.
I have also now ordered a lian li pcie 4.0 riser cable for the gpu. More build updates and pictures to follow once the parts have been received.

All fittings etc arrived today 13/4/22. I have started installing the fittings on the build to get a good picture in my head of the tubing runs. Ran into a couple of issues where I hoped I could fit a 90 degree bend before going into the compression fitting but due to lack of space on the run I will now have to rethink.
Having never bent acrylic tubing before I have been taking my time and learning on the way. So far this evening I have completed the gpu tubing to the pinions. It’s all a massive learning curve but I think slowly I am getting the hang of it….
Only thing left to purchase now is some custom cables

15/4/22: finished the loop tonight. Think it turned out ok 👍. All pipes have been bent and are fitted to the system. Now to disassemble the rads and flush any debris.

18/4/22: Unfortunately the build is currently on hold due to my motherboard being D.O.A and currently going through the RMA process. Hopefully this won’t take too long to exchange 🤞

19/4/22: Custom cables have now been ordered with PEXON. They produce some beautiful premium cables and James is a really nice down to earth guy and a pleasure to deal with. Any questions I had were answered in great detail and he walked me through the steps of getting measurements from start to finish 👌. Pexon custom cables is well worth a look if anyone is in the market for some custom cables! Really looking forward to seeing these when they turn up.

24/4/22: New motherboard arrived, built the system back up, swapped the tubing runs so it now flows in the correct orientation. System is now up and running. Just awaiting the custom cables to call it ‘fully complete’. Final pictures to follow once the cables arrive

18/5/22: Custom cables have arrived from Pexon. I am blown away by the quality. Throughout the whole process James has been extremely helpful. I would very much like to suggest that if you are in the market for custom cables to check out James’s website on the link above.
